Here are my top three place to elope in South Dakota:
Custer State Park
Custer State Park is in between Rapid City, SD, and Custer, SD. This small state park is full of beautifully shaped rocks, forest, and peaceful lakes. If you are wanting somewhere that is outdoorsy with amazing views, Custer State Park is the perfect place for you. There are many different trails to choose from, and plenty of lodging in the park as well.
Badlands National Park
Badlands National Park is one of the most underrated national parks in the country. With beautiful sunrises and sunsets and an otherworldly vibe, the park is the perfect place to share your love. In the summer, native wildflowers bloom and the sunsets go on forever. The towering peaks of the Badlands provides a uniquely beautiful backdrop that you cannot achieve anywhere else.
Falling Rock
This final location is one of the hidden gems within Black Hills National Forest. Falling Rock is just under 10 miles from Rapid City and provides one of the most beautiful views of the Black Hills. There is a short hike that gives way to the most breathtaking views. The trail is fairly well maintained and there is a small parking area as well. This hidden gem is a local favorite and would make the perfect place to take in the views of the Black Hills as newlyweds.
